Spotlight on Mompreneur Designers!

In the past I had blogged about the more well-known brands at Emily & Addie and maybe introduced you to a few new ones. But this time, it’s all about the small business owners. The moms who do it all out of their home! Today you’ll hear about Kara of The Charmed Frog, Karen of Blue Tapestry Threads, Paulina of PT Color Market, and Kim of The Artful Educator.

First, these adorable hair accessories from The Charmed Frog.

I honestly can’t even remember how Kara and I met, but I’m so glad we did. She makes each hair clip and headband (along with a few other cool accessories) by hand herself.  Customers are loving her designs and I’m sure you can see why.

The glitter bow headbands are so adorable and comfortable! We all know that an uncomfortable headband ain’t gonna cut it with a little kid (or adult for that matter!). Accessories like this can really complete an outfit, and a side effect is that they make your kid extremely happy.

And Kara know’s what girls want… rainbows, mermaids, unicorns, butterflies! But she also offers sharks, dinosaurs, hedgehogs, and Batman hair clips because everyone is different and if a girl wants a pink dinosaur than wish granted! Headbands are $14 and clips are $8.

Next up, Blue Tapestry.

Karen was a special educator for many years, a third generation sewist, and obsessed with fabric. She loves to experiment with different products, but has found a niche with her beautiful bib bandanas, a.k.a. bibdanas, and teething rings.

So many cute patterns and wonderful fabrics of course.

Karen has ventured into the clothing arena and I’m happy to carry a few of her adorable shorties in store. More to come on this…

And now for PT Color Market. Paulina is a teacher by day and amazing jewelry designer by all other times of the day! She handcrafts leather bracelets, earrings and other accessories … and I fell in love with her designs at first sight.

Everyone loves the colors, how light and comfortable they are, and the whole boho chic look about them. I currently carry matching mom, kid, doll bracelets that make perfect gifts. Paulina is working on some double and single strand bracelets with charms that are sure to be collector items. Keep an eye out!

Last but not least, The Artful Educator. Kim is a graphic designer who sees a learning experience for kids in the world around her. She brought her talent and an educational opportunity together by creating unique alphabet letter prints that use picture collages.

Each letter has images that all start with that letter, so you can have a conversation and a teaching experience that goes beyond learning what a letter looks like. These make such wonderful gifts!

You can decorate the nursery with 1 simple letter, do ABC, or spell out the child’s name. $15 each. Plus, you can get a whole set of 26 letter flash cards too! $30 for the full set.
